love how it turned out totally a freebie as well made it from left overs from other projects, not to sure I like it on the coffee table....hmmm!!  maybe my sewing machine stand, or on the microwave stand...shrug!!
I will have to play around with it

vanity makeover.....

from U.L.G.Y. to hey!! I want one....lol  My sister brought this to me a couple of weekends ago....not the prettiest thing I have ever received....but had potential

before......
Before
I removed the glass and mirror and thought...."wait" need a "before" shot....I usually remember after the project is done??  - gave the whole thing a good scrubbing with TSP a good rinse dryed it really well and applied double coat of mat black spray paint...fabric came from Fabricland... we had decided on a zebra print fabric for the seat, we could not find any??  we even looked at a couple of second hand stores to see if we could find a blanket or coat...no luck....so we went some left over fabric from another project....the project from start to finsh took one full Saturday to complete....I LOVE fast projects **TADA** after shot.....

After

love how this turned out...

Not to darn shabby I must say pretty happy with the results, Taylor loves it and I guess that is all that matters....back to being an awesome MOM ~ for a little while anyway...lol

Sewing time.....

been really buzy the last few weeks sewing up storm.....here are a few projects that I have been working on - a few are still a work in progress
First up - "Notions"  cute little wall hanging, started this for my sister for her Birthday...unfortunately this is a work in progress, her Birthday was in Feburary....sigh!! did not enjoy working on this project so not to sure it will be finished anytime soon, maybe in time for her birthday next year?? - unfortunately I found this pattern a few years ago and I only have a printed copy of the pattern so not to sure who the creator is??  I will try to see if I can figure it out?    well that was pretty easy to find? the pattern can be found here, you have to follow the pages posted for the links to each of the blocks  http://www.quilterscache.com/N/NotionsBlock.html

I decide to take the plunge into making a quilt, this is a design from Jenny Doan the free tutorial can be found here http://quiltingtutorials.com/browse-by-skill-level/advanced-quilting-tutorials/jelly-star-quilt-block/  Jenny  is totally awesome, I took the plunge because she just makes peicing it all together look so darn easy....and it was. sigh!!... I ran out of materials so unfortunately a wip as well, will share again when it is all finished.

this is little Rita Rabbit made her for Princess Ruby for Easter - found the pattern for this little cutie at at Oh Sew Dollin -  http://www.ohsewdollin.com/category_1/Rag-Doll-Patterns.htm  she is not quite finished yet have a few finishing touches and she will be good to go  - good thing Princess Ruby is to young to know that Easter was a couple of days ago???

Found this little beauty online just love it, can't decide if I should line it or use it as is? the free tuorial can be found here  http://sweet-verbena.blogspot.ca/2012/02/its-cinch-bag-tutorial.html  ....really easy to follow instructions

Last but not least is this adorable little Sunflower - found the tutorial for this little gem at Prim Mart http://primmart.com/learningcenter.asp  under the tutorial section.... I just love this little flower you can have so much fun with it....I have a few more projects planned using this idea OH! did I mention how good these little beauties smell....a grunge coffee bath is suggested with vanilla, but I don't drink coffee and don't like the smell of vanilla, so I changed it up a little, I used a tea bath with cinnamon....and OH! BABY!! do they ever smell good.....

Just wanted to say I am getting much better at saving the tutorial addresses so that I can share the creators, I use to be so bad at that, I would find something and make it weeks later and then forget where I found the pattern??? - I would like to thank all you wonderfully talented ladies for sharing your awesome ideas with us, and giving the rest of the opportunity to create right along with you.

I better scoot got lots of studing to do,

ruffles.....

I have noticed lately ruffles ruffles ruffles every where - in shirts, dresses, pillows and lamps...its a happy time for ruffles lovers every where. A few weeks ago I found this tired little lamp in a our local restore and snatched it up right away.... I could totally see this little blah shade with a few ruffles... a quick run to the fabric store I found some navy material....not to sure what it is?? it has the texture of silk but was way to inexpensive to be real silk...the fabric was a little stiff so I only did the top and bottom in a ruffle, the best part, I made it like a sleeve so I can slide it off when ever I want and just slide a on a new one. I think it turned out pretty good, never covered a lamp before??  got a little caught up in the whole ruffle thing and made a  couple of new pillow covers as well....
They were fun to make - not to sure what the fabric is other than very
inexpensive, they look totally awesome on my couch.

okay so off to bed I go....happy crafting back to chat soon

But when this weekend rolls around look out I will be totally ready to work...the project I have planned is  "Notions" it is wall hanging that I found here http://www.quilterscache.com/N/NotionsBlock.html it is a paper peicing project, never done it before so I have watched a ton of clips on how to foundation/paper peice, I even went out and bought the fancy little add a quarter inch ruler sooo I'm good to go...just need the time to sit and do it... Will post when finished wish me luck

In a HEART kind of mood

with Valentines being so close I have been making heart projects like crazy, it also seems I have been caught up in pink and brown moment.  My latest project I just finished is a heart wall hanging, not to sure what I am going to do with it now that it is done lol, but it was fun making it....used the serger for all the piecing , added the hearts with my sewing machine, then hand quilted around the hearts and squares and the binding.
